An honorable mention goes to packing cubes and vacuum-sealed bags. I've experimented with both, but truthfully, I favor rolling my outfits. I select a full outfit for each day (pants, shirt, underwear, socks) and roll it up. This method is fantastic for the kids too. In the morning, simply grab a roll and get dressed. Naturally, I pack a few extras in case of weather changes or if I need to dress up an outfit, but I've found that rolling is the most effective method.
If you are traveling with little littles consider packing a backpack diaper bag, portable travel highchair, jogging stroller, car seat, and/or travel crib.
